Steve Lorenz has been the Executive Director of Kamm’s Corners Development Corporation (KCDC) since June of 2001. KCDC is the non-profit community development corporation that serves Ward 17 in the City of Cleveland. They have a staff of six.
Steve also served on the board of KCDC for 10 years before joining the staff. His previous background was in the commercial insurance business as owner of an independent insurance agency specializing in construction accounts. He attended Miami University where he studied business with an emphasis on finance.
Steve had a hand in bringing several successful programs to the neighborhood, including Asphalt Cinema, the Kamm’s Corners Farmers Market, and The Hooley on Kamm’s Corners. KCDC also administers the Storefront Renovation Program, the Local Design Review Advisory Committee, publishes Kamm’s Corners Magazine, does housing rehabilitation and code enforcement work, business retention and attraction, administration of a Special Improvement District, and a host of other programs and events each year.
Steve is a member of the Fairview Hospital Advisory Board. He also serves or has served on the Board of Trustees for Cleveland Neighborhood Development Coalition, Neighborhood Housing Services of Greater Cleveland, Old Stone Education Center, West Park YMCA, Growth Capital Corporation, and Franciscan Village. He is also a founding member of the West Park Historical Society.
Steve has resided in the Kamm’s Corners/West Park neighborhood with his wife Cindi since 1989 and is a life-long Clevelander. He enjoys live music, cooking, indoor and sand volleyball, and being a connector of people.
