I’m Christian Taske and I’m excited to be your Tweeter of the Week. I have fallen in love with this town ever since I moved here back in 2004 and I look forward to sharing my @InTheCLE experience with you.
But first a little bit about myself: I grew up in Vechta, a lovely small town in Northern Germany, where I spent the first 20 years of my life. I never thought much about leaving my hometown, but back in 2001 I met this girl from Cleveland who spent a semester at a nearby high school. Long story short: We hit it off, I moved to Cleveland for college, and we now have two amazing kids and a beautiful home in Painesville Township.
Here in Cleveland, I graduated from Notre Dame College with a bachelor’s in communication. I then moved to New York City to get my Master’s in Journalism from Columbia University before returning to NDC to become the College Editor & Writer.
After my stint at NDC I became the Director of Communications at NorTech, an economic development organization in town that worked with businesses in Northeast Ohio’s tech industries. In that role I learned a ton about Cleveland’s potential and really started to appreciate how innovative and forward-thinking this city is.
Besides writing and social media, one of my biggest passions is soccer. In 2015 I had the chance to combine all three for a job with Columbus Crew SC. I really enjoyed my time as the club’s Digital Director, but this summer Cleveland called my family and I back. I’m now the Manager of Content Marketing & Social Media at Cleveland State University, and I absolutely love it.
As you can see, social media is a big part of my personal and professional life. I look forward to taking you on a small journey with me this week. I hope you enjoy it!
